Forum discussion

Forums not relating to a specific Best Practice

What general forums do you want (in addition to the Best Practice forums)? On LEEDuser we have "Forum quick links" in the left sidebar that cover general topics:

https://leeduser.buildinggreen.com/forums

For example, you could have:

  • General questions
  • Using BITbuilding.org

and any other category that isn't restricted to a single Best Practice.

If you want general discussion categories, please come up with a few placeholder categories so we can design the site around them. (It's OK if they change or you add some more.)

Thanks. We certainly need a few for capturing content outside the BPs. General Questions BIT Building admin and certification BIT Aide and Pro support Jenny, Dan, any others you can think of? M. Shane Totten, AIA, LEED AP BD+C Program Director, Research + Incubation office: 404.604.3588

I thought of a few additional categories but then talked myself out of them. I think the three below plus the BPs might do the trick. Jenny Carney, LEED Fellow Vice President, Sustainability & Energy Phone: +1 312 391 2041 Email: jenny.carney@wsp.com

Happy Monday, all! Jenny and I spoke on Friday and determined we need to include a "Getting Started" forum. This will be for participants to share their strategies and tactics for getting started with the program in an effective and positive manner.

That's a good one. The only other one that tempts me is something about Institutionalizing BIT/Sustainability. It's probably too esoteric but I want to find more ways to emphasize the foundational idea that BIT is an ongoing program, rather than an event. Maybe calling it out in a Forum category would help with that?  Again, I'm not sure its useful, but I wanted to put it on the table.    Dan

Dan, I like the way you think. We are approaching the build out as though this is an ongoing program rather than a one time achievement for the BPs. We’re articulating the ongoing value opportunities like the forum, call, and regular feedback from the program as reasons to continue participating. M.
