Form Filling - Mixed Ventilation (Natural & Mechanical)

Hi, our commercial building uses both mechanical and natural ventilation. We have 3 different types of spaces regarding ventilation: a) There are some working zones that comply with the natural ventilation requirements (4% - 25feet) on 100% of the office's surface. b) Some offices are isolated from windows and therefore will be ventilated 100% mechanically. c) Some offices have natural ventilation through windows, but cannot get natural ventilation on the 100% of their surface, due to distances longer than 25 feet to the windows. Therefore, additional mechanical ventilation will be provided. When filling the form, I am choosing the VRP compliance calculator for both mechanical and natural ventilation. My questions are: 1) For offices type "c", should we include this zones in both VRP compliance calculators? 2) Let's say zone X is a 300sf office type "c", which has 100sf naturally ventilated by windows. When filling the mechanically ventilation VRP calculator, shall we use 200sf as for the area of zone X? 3) For the same zone X, when filling the naturally ventilation VRP calculator, shall we use 100sf as for the area of zone X? Thanks!

Manuel, for the type "c" zones, how is mechanical ventilation provided? Does the ventilation also end up supplying the naturally ventilated portion of the zone? Is the mechanical ventilation air-conditioned air?

Roger, I ok would like to jump in on this thread, as I have the exact same question as Manuel. To answer your question, in my case: 'Yes' Type C zone is not broken by a wall or any other structure, it is a daycare room. The furthest point from the opening is around 35' but only composes about 10% of the total room. The current design is to provide mechanically supplied ventilation to account for this 10% that is not within the 25' radius of the naturally ventilated area. The mechanical ventilation would be conditioned. Is this an acceptable strategy for compliance or will the single room/zone need to comply with either 'Natural Ventilation' or 'Mechanical Ventilation'?
