If we are pursuing the Flooring category and not the Wet Applied products categories, does that mean we don't need to pay attention to VOC content or emissions for flooring adhesives, underlayment or coatings?

Hi-
Table 5 on pg 868 of the Reference Guide defines what each category includes. For flooring, the entire system (similar to v3) must comply. This includes the underlayment, adhesives, grout, sealers, stains and other floor coatings. Some examples of a "multi-component flooring system" given in the table are "resilient flooring with site-applied sealer" and "tile with adhesive and grout." So, a floor coating must comply with the requirements for the coating category, even though you're not pursuing that category, because it's part of the floor.

Hey Michelle-
I got my compliance paths confused! Since Table 5 only applies to Option 2, I would hang my hat on the verbiage on page 663 under Option 1, Step 1 which states "Adhesives, sealants, paints and coatings used on site with flooring products are considered interior adhesives and sealants or interior paints and coatings, as appropriate. The flooring itself must meet the requirements of the flooring product category." So, as long as you use Option 1, you can focus on the flooring products ONLY. Sorry about the confusion!!
