CI-2009 WEp1:Water Use Reduction—20% Reduction

Fixtures included in WEp1.

Hi, I believe that I already know the answer but I want to present my doubt to you as a double-check. Turns out I'm working on a CI project that only installed kitchen sinks within the tenant space, the restrooms are located on the core of the building. So if my comprehension of the prerequisite is accurate I would only have to develop the calculations for WEp1 including the kitchen sinks flow, and the rest of the fixtures should be included in WEc1 right?

Correct. If no modifications are being made to the core restrooms as part of the project scope, then you would only include those fixtures that are within the tenant space (i.e. kitchen sink) for WEp1. The core restrooms would then be factored into the equation for WEc1. If, however, the core restrooms are being modified as part of the project scope, then they would be included in the WEp1 calculations as well.

My comment above is assuming of course it is a multi-tenant floor. If the tenant takes the entire floor, then I would typically include the core restrooms in the WEp1 calculation.

William, Project is installed in two floors, one floor is shared and the other one is occupied completely by the project. Do you still recommend to include the restroom fixtures in the prerequisite? Just to be sure, this is a recommendation made by you but it's not a must-do presented by LEED right?

Per the July 19, 2010 Addenda, all fixtures - including existing - that are within the LEED project boundary are to be included in WEp1. Given a full floor occupancy, the core restrooms on that floor would technically fall within the boundary.
