NC-2009 WEp1:Water Use Reduction—20% Reduction

Fixtures to be included in WEp1 calculations

We have two lavatories to be used for medical purposes in our buldings: one in the esterelization room of an ambulatory and the other in a medical office. However, those two lavatories are of the same exact flow and type of the ones that will be used in our wcs. Should the consumption of those fixtures be included in the calculations, since the credit description says it "...should only include water closets, urinals, lavatory faucets, showers, kitchen sink faucets and pre-rinse spray valves"? In case we do have to include these 2 fixtures, what's the correct way to do it without double counting lavatories in the same group? We already created a group for the fixtures that will be used by the doctors. Thanks!

Hi folks, Haven't solved this issue yet... This is an automotive factory, a multiple building project. We are using the same fixture type for different purposes several times in this project, to mention a few: sinks in the sterilization room and medical room in the ambulatory, sinks for tools cleansing, sinks for production process related activities. Just want to make sure we are not leaving anything out from the calculations. Thanks

If the two WCs have the exact same flush rate, I would jsut combine them into one Fixture ID. Provide a narrative explaining that the fixtures have been combined because they have the same flush rate. If the fixture rates vary, you will have to separate them all out in the form. And you will have to figure out what percentage of occupants will use each fixture and adjust the Fixture Group Definition numbers accordingly.
