LEED v4 states the following:
The following exterior lighting is exempt from the requirements, provided it is controlled separately from the nonexempt lighting: lighting that is used solely for façade and landscape lighting in MLO lighting zones 3 and 4, and is automatically turned off from midnight until 6 a.m.
Our commercial project in LZ3 have the same facade lighting design intent. Linear lights on the fins. Therefore, this counts as an exemption, since its for aesthetic intent of the facade right? As long as we follow the time restraints and operation control.
Does anyone have a project that have successfully achieved this credit? Thanks

Yes, people have earned this credit. I think about 20% of projects earn this credit.
As long as you follow the time restraints, and operational control, you can use this exemption. Just note which lighting this applies to and describe the controls associated with these lights.
You will still have to count the wattage for this lighting in your documentation for this credit and the site lighting total needs to be within the max wattage allowed for the site.
