We are working on the design of a new office tower and we would appreciate some guidance on whether the following metering strategies are acceptable to qualify for the Advanced Energy Metering credit:
- Our project will have a large number of fan and pump motors that will be controlled by variable frequency drives. These VFDs can communicate the energy consumption of the motors to the BAS. Is this an acceptable way of measuring the energy use of fan and pump motors?
- The interior lighting will be centrally controlled by the BAS. Would it be acceptable to extract the lighting energy consumption and demand from the BAS?
