hello, we are seeing request of LEEDv4.1 Existing Interior (EI) projects. project that was requested is office space of a building.
Alot of times, electricity is directly metered, however, most of the water bill is billed based on floor area (unless the space is used as restaurant or space type that requires high water demand).
Would actual water meter has to be installed only within the parameter where the EI is applied and collect data for a year to proceed with the LEEDv4.1 Existing Interior project. Considering the any building occupants can use the project space bathroom, splited bill based on the floor area does sounds fair to me.
Please share your experience or answers you have recieved from USGBC!
Thank you

If water meter can be installed exclusively within the project scope, its better, if not, then water consumption record of base building need to be considered and then pro rated depending on the occupancy.
