We have 4 person meeting rooms that are typically used for less than an hour at a time, yet during our GBCI audit a comment was made that these spaces need to be controlled individually. We were asked to:
"Provide a narrative and supporting documentation such as drawings, control diagrams, and cut sheets to demonstrate that each individual private office and specialty occupancies have active controls; and controls are capable of sensing space use and modulating the HVAC system in response to space demand."
Would adding an exhaust fan with a thermostat to each of these rooms be an acceptable solution to meet the intent of the credit? The rooms could have returns ducted to the adjacent open office area. We are hoping that this could be a more cost effective solution than installing a VAV at each location. Could it be an on/off switch and operate like the IEQ 6.1wher a user can control the funtion instead of a sensor?
