CI-2009 EAc1.4:Optimize Energy Performance—Equipment and Appliances

exclusions

Hi there, I was wondering if there are exclusions to some of the pieces of equiptment that would qualify as Energy Star? For example, refrigerators should be included as a relevant 'Equiptment Type' on the template for LEED online, but what about medical refrigerators? Do you think we could omit those or act as though they are 'normal' fridges? Thanks.

Hi Naten, The program requirements for each equipment & appliance category detail definitions of included and excluded appliances for each category. I would assume that a medical refrigerator does not fit the bill of either the residential refrigerator or commercial kitchen refrigerator categories, but be sure to read both refrigerator program requirements closely. They can be found here: http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=product_specs.pt_product_specs
