Under ASHRAE 90.1 – G2.5, can we avoid to use a workaround to detail a HVAC system feature which could involve an energy saving, therefore avoid to do an exceptional calculation method, if we prefer a precautionary solution that do not require any workaround on the energy model?

Probably, but some more detail would help provide a more definite answer. LEED reviewers can bend the rules a bit as long you can make the case that the results are conservative. Conservative meaning that the energy savings percentage is lower as a result.

@MARCUS, Is therre any valid methodlogy or claculator avalbe for Exceptional claculator?
the Energy Star calculator does not cover all type of equipment. we wan to claculate the load of factory.

Exceptional calculations tend to be specific to a particular situation so I am not aware of any sort of calculator for them. Energy Star does not address factory equipment.
