In case you have not seen this relatively new guide I would highly recommend it to help with your modeling issues.

Hi Marcus, could you ask the chaps to improve Figure 3 (p 2.8) to include the <50 hrs difference in UMLH between the UMLH proposed and UMLH baseline boxes in the flow diagram? I don't have a direct email.
Cheers, Jean

Hi Jean,
This document is based on 90.1-2010 which eliminated the <50 hours. That is why it does not show in the diagram.

Where the modeling parameters did not change the specific guidance in this document should apply to 90.1-2007 models. Even if it did change much of the guidance would still help folks understand how to model many of the baseline requirements. Just need to keep an eye out for the changes in 90.1-2010.
I already referred someone on LEED User to the part where it tells you how to model the fan controls for a system 8. Saved me a bunch of time!

Good to know. I noticed some big changes in baseline lighting, involving what looks like complex (and time consuming) area calculations for daylighting controls.
How much more time than 2007 PRM would you estimate? 10%-20%?

I had not thought of it that way. But I suppose you are right that it will take some more time. I think once you get over the learning curve the extra time will be minimal.
