NC-2009 SSp1:Construction Activity Pollution Prevention

Excavation material from LEED Project is moved outside the LEED boundary on adjacent land.

Hello Everyone

In this particular project we have a condition that raised a question. We have large campus on a greenfield housing two buildings pursuing certification. An ESC plan will be implemented across the entire site.

However, given the following conditions:

-Land adjacent to the LEED project is owned by X developer where more X construction activity will be occurring. (outside the LEED Boundary)

-Earthworks within LEED project boundary require more excavation than fill material, so a % of the excavation material will be left over.

This leftover excavation material (which came from the LEED project site) will be sent to an adjacent site for use on another project. (however the start date of this other project is still to be determined)

Is the protection of this leftover excavation material in adjacent site included in the ESC measures scope for our LEED project?

Is it outside the LEED project boundary therefore outside the ESC scope?

Once you haul the fill from your site, and someone else takes ownership of it you are no longer responsible.
