EPD as an alternative approach to comply with Option-4 requirements

It is virtually impossible to do a credible whole-building LCA using only EPDs. You would have to essentially do the LCA study entirely by hand, carefully reviewing every EPD for alignment of scope, boundary, data sets, and method, and adjusting the data as needed, which may not be possible; finding missing data for the life phases not included in most EPDs; and finding data for products/materials in the building where there is no published EPD.
