Hi Everyone,
Can someone clarify what is the extent of envelope design review by a Commissioning Authority (CxA)
1) Fundamental Commissioning
2) Enhanced Commissioning
3) if Envelope Commissioning Credits are taken.
I am confused with the LEED statement for fundamental Cx as per the guide -
Requirements for exterior enclosures are limited to inclusion in the owner’s project requirements (OPR) and
basis of design (BOD), as well as the review of the OPR, BOD and project design. NIBS Guideline 3-2012 for Exterior
Enclosures provides additional guidance.
· Develop the OPR.
· Develop a BOD
Is the envelope design review for every LEED v4 project mandatory.
Thanks,
Rohit

Yes, a design review of the envelope is required under the prereq, but it can be completed by the design firm using another internal expert that is not on the design team. I did not and do not think this is right, but it is the way v4 went.
