Are throw rugs subject to the credit requirements?
What are the adhesives and sealants to be included in the documentation?
Is there a VOC budget method for this credit?
What are the limits on the VOC budget method?
Do products applied to the weather barrier need to comply with VOC thresholds?
If one part of my multicomponent wall system is not compliant, can I still get full credit?

Hi Charline,
I would tend to consider a 100% metal grid walk off system to be exempt, using the general "inert metal" exemption rationale noted in the Reference Guide's low emitting assembly chart clarifications. However, if the manufactured assembly is comprised of carpet or other engineered materials as well, I would think it should be included /subject to the flooring assembly evaluation. In my projects, VOC budget methods have been a necessity. As such, including modest sized "non-compliant" entry surfaces has not posed a significant impact to the overall VOC calculation's performance.
However, I am curious to hear any other opinions.

Hi Joanna, thanks for your feedback. I have the same opinion. we are thinking about shifting to OPT 2. it seems time consuming with all surfaces required...

Just curious if any updates to this discussion? I have the same question about the entryway system. Thanks!

I have the same issue with several projects from the same client. It should be great if anyone could confirm it...

You could send your question to a LEED coach (coaches@gbci.org)? I recently submitted a similar question (what is the applicable requirement for wood doors?) and I received a fairly speedy reply.

I confirmed from my LEED coach that if permanently installed that it is required to following the flooring requirements (unless it's an inherently non-emitting material).
