I'm working on a TI project and the client doesn't have access to plans of the main floor. The landlord has said that taking photos will be acceptable, but will photos work for documentation? It doesn't look like it, but I want to check before I rule it out.

Yes, photos will work, as long as you can identify the location(s) they're representing. If you don't have floorplans, can you get an image from Google Maps or similar?

I'd also recommend bringing a tape measure when you take photos (unless it's obvious that the mats are >10' long).
