We are going for IEQ Credit 5 under LEED 2009 CI. The project is on the 22nd floor of a building where there is a significant amount of walking distance, that includes walk-off mats at the building entrances, before you reach the elevators to go up to the space. Are we required to have an entryway system in the space for this credit?

You only need to provide walk off mats for direct external entrances to the project. As you're on the 22nd floor, you do not require an entryway system. Indeed, you do not even need to document that the building includes walk-off mats.
