Working on a project that the occupancy of the building is a multi-tenant. Would the project still be able to receive this credit, if the entryway / walk off mats are not apart of the project scope. The walk-off mats would fall on the base building, but this isn't something that has been provided or included. The base building is LEED Certified Project. Also, if we can still apply for this credit, how would we go about filling out the form?

If you have a direct entrance from the outside you will need to install walk-off mats as part of your scope of work to achieve the credit. If you do not have a direct entrance from the outside (for example you are on an upper floor or across a lobby from the entrance) then you would not need to install the walk-off mats. You only have to provide documentation for this credit for the portions that apply to your space - although these must be documented even if it is not within your scope of work. For example, you may not install the HVAC system, but you still need to document that MERV 13 filters are installed.

Is this an ID+C project in a LEED BD+C building? I agree with Michael. In ID+C if you don't have exterior access you are exempt from the walk-off mat requirement. You need to use the special circumstances box on the form to explain.

It is an ID+C Project. The first part of the form has you fill out what type of entryway system. This was something we didn't have control over. We will use the special circumstance box.

It should be. You can cite the sentence in the ID+C Reference Guide. "When the project space does not have direct access to the exterior, the requirement for a permanent entryway system may be waived."
