NC-2009 EAp2: Minimum Energy Performance
We have a data center project where the owner decided to design-build a dome structure because of the efficiencies inherent in this type of construction. However, what we notice is that the energy model is comparing the dome-design to a dome-baseline. Will GBCI allow us to submit documentation showing dome-design to conventional-baseline?

A portion of our building envelope is historic. Can we exclude it from our model?

The efficiencies of dome construction are mostly in the construction materials. A conventional design (a box) of the same area and volume would not likely show much difference in energy performance, all other variables being equal.
