Dear All,
I am doing the Energy Model for one of CI Project considering the ASHRAE 90.1.2007 Appendix G - Performance rating method. Tenant space is 12% of overall project's area. Whole building is conditioned by Water cooled chiller. We have created two energy model to compare the cost savings associated with HVAC only.
Baseline Model: Both Project Area and Balance of Modeled Building Segment:
- Envelope - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
- LPD - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
- HVAC System Type (Air Side System) - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
- HVAC System Type (Chiller Plant) - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
- Fan power - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
- Pumps & Cooling Tower - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
Proposed Design:Project Area
- Envelope - Design Proposed
- LPD - Design Proposed
- HVAC System Type (Air Side System) - Design Proposed
- HVAC System Type (Chiller Plant) - Design Proposed
- Fan power - Design Proposed
- Pumps & Cooling Tower - Design Proposed
Proposed Design:Balance of Modeled Building Segment
- Envelope - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
- LPD - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
- HVAC System Type (Air Side System) - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
- HVAC System Type (Chiller Plant) - Design Proposed
- Fan power - As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 and Appendix G
- Pumps & Cooling Tower - Design Proposed
- Whether the above approach is correct to arrive the savings to attain 5 or 10 points under EA Cr 1.3 HVAC?
- Whether the above baseline is called Alternate baseline? Since, whole baseline model is created with As per ASHRAE 90.1.2007 only instead of existing design.
- Fresh air and no of people has designed only for project space. For rest of spaces, Fresh air and no of people has provided as per 62.1.2007. Is this correct?

Few changes are done.
Proposed Design:Balance of Modeled Building Segment
Is this correct to determine the savings under EA c1.3?

1. Impossible to tell from the information above.
2. Not sure what it is called. LEED Interpretation 10412 spells out the option to use an energy model to claim credit under this credit - https://www.usgbc.org/content/10412
3. Ventilation and occupancy must be modeled identically based on the proposed design or an estimate of what would be expected.
