Elevator Machine Room/ Electrical Room Ventilation?

Does elevator machine room or electrical room need to comply with ASHRAE 62 for Ventilation? I noticed that in the 62-2010 table for ventilation 6-1 calls for elevator machine rooms to have 0.12 cfm\sf of ventilation and electrical room at 0.06 cfm\sf. None of these rooms regardless of the type are intended for occupancy except for specially trained service personal. The doors are permanently locked with only building maintenance with keys or access. They are almost always buried in the middle of a building and no one wants to run the main OA system 24\7 for 6 cfm this might require on these small rooms. So do we have to have OA for them or not?

Xun, according to the definition of a regularly occupiable space in ASHRAE 62.1 2007 you do not need to include these as occupied spaces. You will want to address this in your narrative when you upload the credit.
