Pilot-Credits EQpc44:Ergonomics approach for computer users

Education Session/Survey Requirement in LEED v4 Projects

I am working on a LEED-CI v4 project that has registered for this Pilot Credit.

For submittal requirements in the USGBC Pilot Credit Library it lists that projects will need to provide:

  1. Confirmation that an Ergonomist or Health and Safety Specialist was utilized for the project.
  2. Written commitment from the owner or owner’s representative that the ergonomics strategy will be implemented
  3. Detailed description of the ergonomics strategy, including the following:
    • goals of the ergonomics strategy
    • process to define occupant needs
    • standard/guideline(s) that will be used to inform design options/selections
    • design layouts, options, and cut sheets for the product selections
    • education program
    • ergonomics process that will be used for maintaining occupant well-being.

So have the requirement for holding 2 education sessions/example survey gone away in v4 and replaced by "a detailed description of the education program" instead?

Any insight on this would be appreciated.

Hi Brad,  You are correct, the requirement for holding 2 education sessions/example surveys have gone away and been replaced by "a detailed description of the education program".

Thanks for this clarification.  Our project has an app-based engagement + education program that affords continuous learning.

Hi, I do see that the credits requires to document an education program for move-in and during ongoing operations. Additionally it also requires to document the process for evaluating and maintaining occupant well-being upon move-in and during ongoing operations to ensure the ergonomics strategy goals are being met. This evaluation process needs to be mesaurable, frequent and in place after the implementation.
