It says there is to be a baseline year to compare with the performance period. My project is an addition to an existing building that has never been certified. So do I need to first have a year of data for the baseline and then a year of performance period to compare?

Hi Kasandra, in this case the "baseline" is essentially just tracking emissions using a third-party program like Energy Star. Then you'll need to provide a list of completed efficiency measures and the estimated emissions reduction achieved by each one. I'm not sure how the addition/existing building situation would come into play, but if you're generating a Statement of Energy Performance for EAp2, you can just provide that under EAc6 along with the list of measures/emissions reductions. Check out the Documentation Toolkit tab for some good examples.

So I can just monitor for a year? I will be using Energy Star.

Ok great - you can just provide the SEP from Energy Star (which will show the building's overall emissions), along with the list of measures implemented and the associated emissions reductions.
