NC-2009 EAc5:Measurement and Verification

EAc5, Option #3 = MPR #6

Why are project teams awarded a point for following the requirements of a Minimum Program Requirement? I am not complaining, I love free points!... just curious. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. thanks.

The MPR is a requirement for most project but not all. There are loopholes being closed by making it a prerequisite in v4. USGBC wants the data to see how LEED projects are performing. And the other options for M&V are commonly confused and often not even implemented. Rather give a point for data than 3 points for a worthless plan. Those are the ones off the top of my head.

Actually, you only get the point if you sign the project up for Portfolio Manager and set up automatic reporting. So you are going beyond the MPR, which just asks for reporting "if" you have meters.
