My project is an office tenant fitout (1 floor in a high-rise building). We are going with Option 2 - Prescriptive Compliance and we are relying on base building equipment for the most part (air handlers, chilled & hot water central plants etc.).
I need to upload the performance results from EnergyStar TargetFinder. TargetFinder asks for energy usage it seems like I will need a whole energy model to get the energy consumption data (but I am going with Option 2, so did not make an energy model).
Can I use TargetFinder, for 1 floor in a building, or does it need to be something done by the landlord, for the entire building?
If I need the score from TargetFinder for just the tenant space, don't I need an energy model?
Also, it seems like I can just pick a target number if I don't want to input energy data, but I do not want to randomly pick one.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I agree that asking for a Target Finder score for Option 2 does not make much sense. Is the prerequisite form asking for it?

The prerequisite form has 2 options:
1) "Provide the Target Finder performance results for the project building."
OR
2) "Project is unable to use Target Finder because the tool does not support the primary building type of the project building."
I know it is not #2 since Target Finder can support an office building, but selecting #1 with no proper basis to get a score for just my tenant space does not seem right to me.

I agree. Maybe just enter NA.

Hi,
I am also having the same issue- Project is a single floor office fit-out, the tenant has never been in this building (so no consumption data available) so as Nikhilesh mentioned I can simply choose for example 20% better than the median building, but this really does mean nothing.
No Energy Use Intensity figure can be produced etc. Just to test, I used the CBECS 2012 data and the project floor area (to generate an estimated consumption figure)- turns out this results in my building being 66% worse than the median building!
Not really sure what to provide as evidence for TargetFinder!
Thanks
