CI-2009 IEQc3.1:Construction IAQ Management Plan—During Construction

Ductwork cleaning

Hi. If when inspecting a LEED job-site and you find that ductwork is without covering/blue film, I know that cleaning out the dust must occur. My question is there specific requirements for a product to be used or its a matter of a wet rag and what not to clean it out? Your quickest reply is greatly appreciated

As far as I know (someone correct me if I'm wrong) SMACNA doesn't have specific requirements. However I would recommend vacuuming or technology similar to that used for maintenance duct cleaning. A wet rag could introduce unwanted moisture into the ducts.
