Hi:
We are working in a project in Lima Perú and the HVAC Engineer has just sent to us a submittal sheet of a Magnetic Chiller with a COP of 10,8. We have never seen such a COP value in any other equipmente and eventhough it has an important incidence in the energy model, we are afraid this equipment may be rejected for being considered "to over the top". Has any one of you have had experience with a chiller of these characteristics?. Can it be possible the reviewer can refuse it because ot this elevated value?. Thanks for your help.

Not heard of a chiller with such a high COP.
The reviewer is very likely to question such a high value. If you feel it is justified be sure to back it up in your submission.

Thanks so much, we were wondering the same but it is better to have a confirmation from you.

Daikin McQUAY Magnitude™ Magnetic Bearing Centrifugal Chiller Model WME is able to achieve the said COP. Their catalogue is availabe from web.

Ivy: The magnetic centrifugal chiller HVAC Engineer sent to us is from the brand SMARDT. It has a considerable impact (positive) in the energy simulation and also complies with EA pr3 and EA c4. All these is positive but we are afraid as Marcus posted, the reviewer refuses it and if that happens there is no way back. I am going to look for the Chiller Mc Quay you mention.
Has any one worked with a chiller of this performance without having problems?. Thanks all!

If it does exist then just provide documentation from the manufacturer of the efficiency and how it was calculated.
