District heating form sewage sludge combustion as renewable energy?

Dear all,

40% of the district heating one of our projects procures is generated from the combustion of sewage sludge and Biogenic waste.

Can this be counted as renewable energy and, if so, what evidence would be required?

Perhaps. The sewage sludge sounds like it might be ok for tier 3. The biogenic waste would depend in its composition. Anything that would be considered municipal solid waste or wood waste other than mill residue is ineligible.
