Design for Freedom @ Greenbuild

Hi SDL,

I'm heading to Greenbuild next week and one of my teammates who's not attending has asked me to look for expo hall vendors who are involved in Design for Freedom. He's starting up a new project that he thinks could be a good DFF pilot and wants to get some manufacturer contacts. Is there any kind of informal DFF meetup happening this year?

Of course if anyone has some companies to recommend I'm happy to pass along their contact info, but getting to meet folks would be great.

Looking forward to seeing a lot of you at the show & tell, I wish the mood could be more celebratory but I know it will be energizing to see all the work in progress.

Hi Emily. Sorry I missed this before Greenbuild, but we have a project in our office that we are planning to submit for the DFF pilot as well. We are just getting started on the research, and I am not sure how many manufacturers are at the point of positioning themselves as "DFF certified" or anything like that. It seems like a lot of the work is in research and advocacy to manufacturers to increase awareness and demand at this point. I am curious if you saw anything at the expo.

My coworker actually ended up coming to GB last minute, so I didn't go looking for DFF-friendly exhibitors. If you're interested in connecting with him to collaborate on your pilot projects let me know (epurcell@cannondesign.com) and I'll put you in touch!
