NC-v4 MRc3:Building product disclosure and optimization - sourcing of raw materials

Declaration of Regional Material

Dear All,

I would like to condsider the average recycled contenet for our Reabar of 25%. and also to consider the regional content factors (location factors) for our rebar product.

I would request if any one have a sample of this letter (regional content declaration) to provide so I can share it with our suppllier to fill it out, and

Is it approved if this letter to be provided by the supplier (not manufacturer)?

Regards,

Osman

Hi Osman,
  1. No, we don’t have.
In addition, no specific format for regional content declaration is needed. As long as the letter can show that material within 100 miles (160 km) which include the distribution, purchase location, and includes all points of manufacture, then it is supposed to be approved by LEED assessor.
  2. Yes, it should be approved.
LEED BD+C v4 guide states on page 530:
"A compliant report must be issued by either the manufacturer or the raw material supplier and cover at least the criteria listed in the rating system requirements."
