For a data center project, will the data suites be considered as occupied space? It is basically a storage room for electronic data. People only come in to do a weekly maintenance in short period of time. Anyone has experience in data center? Can Data Suites be excluded from Occupied Space? This relates to other credits as well.
Thanks.

A space which is occupied for less than an hour day on a regular basis or the activity of space is hampered by the introduction of daylight can be excluded.

Just a suggestion...if you are going to leave it out of your calculations, be prepared to defend your position on it's use. Some reviewers can be tough, so having a narrative prepared would be a good idea.

Some reviewers are taking the stance that any room where work is performed is considered a "Regularly Occupied Space" per the handbook's definition. The amount of time spent in these spaces is irrelavant to them.
