Dear all,
There is a data center in early design phase and its investors decide to pursue LEED BD+C for Data Center. This plan is stuck in finding an qualified CxA because they are not sure that the chosen CxA must have experience in 02 data centers at least or it must have experience in other kinds of building with similar or more complex system types.
In this case, i think system type is more important than kind of building, is that right?
Thank you and Best regards.

You are correct. When looking at experience, for meeting the requirement or making sure you get the right value, having someone that has experience with the systems is key. However, if you are going to commission the electrical and backup power systems, then having a solid electrical power background in data centers is important. In many ways, for commissioning, the mechanical systems are just super dense versions of a large building with lots of qualified people to do the testing. The power system of a data center is a whole other issue from the electrical side with very key differences from a typical building. Someone that does hospitals regularly would be a good person, but if the CxA only has commercial building experience, I would keep looking.
