Corridors in Dwelling Units

Dear All, In a residential building with natural ventilation only, should corridors and entry halls in dwelling units be shown to be provided with outdoor air (meaning complying with requirements of Section 5.1 or utilizing an engineered system)? Or are these spaces considered non-occupiable and exempt from the requirements?

When they are enclosed they require ventilation. Typically, we do not provide ventilation or conditioning in corridors and entry halls for multi-family residential because they are not enclosed.

Thanks Dylan. What I was trying to understand is, do these spaces require ventilation in any form, mechanical or natural? If they are enclosed, meaning doors block the path of natural ventilation, you are suggesting that mechanical ventilation should be provided? What if they are not enclosed, but further than 25 m. from any window openings? Would that be incompliant with ASHRAE 62.1? Effectively, my question is, are these spaces evaluated similarly to bedrooms, living rooms, etc. as occupiable?
