If we will be using the 45% default for the Construction Cost, How do I determine the Construction Cost? Is it the Constact Amount Value Less the Electrical,Mechanical,Eqpt,Specialty Eqpt. costs? then the amount to multiply by 45% to get the default? Pls. advise.. thanks

The construction cost you will multiply by 45% is the hard cost only in CSI MasterFormat 2004 Edition, divisions: Division 03 Concrete Division 04 Masonry Division 05 Metals Division 06 Wood, Plastics, and Composites Division 07 Thermal and Moisture Protection Division 08 Openings Division 09 Finishes Division 10 Specialties Division 31.60.00 Foundations Division 32.10.00 Paving Division 32.30.00 Site Improvements Division 32.90.00 Planting

We just started construction. Will that mean we will have to obtain budgeted cost of item per item divisions? What do you mean by hard costs only? Are these hard costs cover only direct cost and will not include the indirect costs like overhead/burdens/general requirement expenses/adm.overhead/etc? is it right to just get the contract amt. value less electrical,mechanical,equipment,specialty equipment, etc? Please advise on the proper procedure to get the Construction Cost.Thanks
