We had a submittal come in that is proposing the use of a "bonding slurry" to be used above grade between the metal deck and concrete slab for each building story. The contractor is arguing that it's essentially a sub-floor product and won't be exposed to the interior of the building, essentially encased from the air by the deck and it's fireproofing layer, and the concrete slab. Do we need to track this product for LEM? Or can we ignore it as not being exposed to the interior of the building?

Hi Laura, I would not typically track this information and agree with the contractor that it's part of the subfloor which can be excluded. I'd be interested to hear if others feel differently.

Hi Laura, I may be wrong but I think the standard, if the product is wet-applied onsite on the inside of the building's weather-proofing barrier, is still applicable here.
