Dear all,
1. Could you please tell me how did you get the values for radiant asymmetry of ceilings and walls, vertical air temp. difference and floor surface temperature for NC projects. Can the values from Annex A be used?
2. Can I use Table A.5 (Annex A) of the standard to get values of mean air velocity? if not, could you please tell me how did you obtain those values?
3. Finally, do I need to provide any evidence from the design team as support documents for the credit?
Thanks a lot.

Hi Angelina,
Yes, you should use Annex A of IS 7730:2005 to estimate the effects of any likely local discomfort sources. The mean air velocity should reflect the actual design of the system as best possible. In most cases, it depends on the diffuser type, and many diffuser manufacturers will show a rated "throw" or air speed at different distances. If your system is standard and you can't find this information, then a design assumption is usually fine.
To document the credit, you'll need to show supporting calculations, diagrams, and/or computer program outputs that the design team completed.
