I am working on a New Construction project that is considering pursuing an ID point for Community outreach and involvement. Looking at the language posted on the innovation catalog (https://www.usgbc.org/node/7433446?return=/credits/new-construction/v4/i...) for this point however it looks like the team can either 1) comply with community outreach OR 2) comply with option 1 AND conduct a design charrette or interactive workshop OR 3) Do an endorsement program.
I understand that the language for this credit was pulled from LEEDv4, but am unsure of how to proceed when option 2 is just additional requirements on top of option 1. Does option 1 alone still meet the requirement? Was the intention to give you the option of meeting option 2 without the option 1 requirement?

I agree the language posted there is not clear for a project trying to use this as an ID strategy. Sometimes, there's a clarification box at the bottom that states how NC projects can apply it, but I see no other guidance, even on the other tabs.
If no one else here can help, I would reach out to USGBC or GBCI and ask for clarification. If that ends up being the case, please report back here with what they tell you.

Thanks Emily. I contacted the USGBC and got the following response "When using this as an Innovation credit for a BD+C project, the project must demonstrate compliance with Option 1, at a minimum. As this would be an innovation point, however, additional points could not be earned for demonstrating compliance with Option 2 or Option 3. The project could not earn a point for earning the additional Option 2 or Option 3 requirements without demonstrating compliance with Option 1."
