Hi,
we're working on a project that is pursuing LEED C&S certification. This project includes mainly a hypermarket and some small shops, mall areas and car parks. In what relates to the hypermarket area, lighting, HVAC and commercial refrigeration systems will be installed by the tenant, following minimum performance guidelines defined in tenants lease agreement.
Since commercial refrigeration system is not a regulated load (process energy), is there any specific procedure that we shall follow in order to demonstrate that the installed system will have a performance higher than typical (VSD compressors, enclosed exhibitors, optimized evaporation and condensation controls, etc)? Please note that in a hypermarket this system typically accounts for 50% of total energy use and we expect that savings can represent 10%-20% of this system (5%-10% of total hypermarket energy use).
