An office building that is being certified under LEED C&S will have 80% of its gross floor area without a complete interior fit-out at time of construction work completion. IEQc1 (Outdoor air delivery monitoring) implies the installation of CO2 sensors in densely occupied zones (higher than 25 people per 1.000 sqf, 40 sqf/person). This density is much higher than the one defined in Appendix 1 (250 sqf per person). However, it is lower than the density indicated by ASHRAE 62.1 for meeting rooms (50 people per 1.000 sqf). Therefore, meeting rooms in tenant spaces must be considered as densely occupied zones. However, C&S box in LEED Reference Guide pg. 439 suggests that requirement related with CO2 sensors does not apply to tenant area: “Project teams may want to include measures that enable building occupants to monitor the CO2 in their spaces… so that occupants can earn points in LEED for Commercial Interiors”. Can you please clarify?

I has a project and the reviewer feedbacked that owner doesn't have to install CO2 sensors in tenant spaces. Instead you will show that your BMS system has the ability to integrate CO2 sensors of future tenants. Hope this helps you understand better
