Hello everyone,
For LEED energy modeling following ASHRAE 90.1-2010 Appendix G, I need clarification on which specific minimum equipment efficiency tables from Section 6.8.1 (Tables A to K) are to be used for the baseline case systems:
- System 2 – PTHP (Packaged Terminal Heat Pump)
- System 4 – PSZ-HP(Packaged Rooftop Heat Pump)
- System 6 – Packaged VAV with PFP Boxes
Could someone please confirm which exact tables (e.g., 6.8.1A, 6.8.1B, etc.) should be referred to for these baseline systems, along with the corresponding equipment types (e.g., air-cooled DX units, heat pumps, etc.)?
Thank you in advance for your support.

Table G3.1.1B tells you the heating and cooling system type.
System 2 and 4 - Table 6.8.1B
System 6 - Table 6.8.1A

Hi Marcus, Thanks for the reply.
I understand from Table G3.1.1B that System 6 (for a nonresidential, multizone building) refers to a Packaged Rooftop VAV with Parallel Fan-Powered Boxes and Reheat, and that per forum guidance, the applicable efficiency table is Table 6.8.1A of ASHRAE 90.1-2010.
However, Table 6.8.1A lists multiple equipment types — air-cooled, water-cooled, evaporatively cooled, etc.
Could you please clarify which specific equipment type (e.g., Air Conditioner, Air-Cooled, Packaged) is to be used for System 6 when modeling the baseline system under Appendix G?

It is air cooled. VAV systems tend to be served by packaged units, not split systems.

I misspoke earlier. System 2 should be Table 6.8.1D.
