NC-v4 EAp1:Fundamental commissioning and verification

Change to Cx agent

I'm working on a v4 project currently in CD design phase. It appears that the Owner may be required to change their Commissioning Agent due to a contractual issue out of the control of the Design Team. If this should occur, will we still be able to earn EAp1? We have been meeting with the current Commissioning Agent up to this point of the project. Are there special actions that would need to be taken to ensure compliance and facilitate hand-off to a new Commissioning Agent? Thanks in advance!

Hi Cynthia, I don't see this as a deal breaker. I think as long as the new CxA meets the prerequisite requirements and is briefed on work-to-date, you should be just fine.

There may be a little more to this, unfortunately. I agree with Trista that this can happen with a good handoff of the action items related to design issues and how they are addressed. You should expect some additional fee to bring a new CxA on board and should probably offer them to do a quick review to see if they have anything to add. A clear contractual handoff should also be done. Under v4, the scope of the prerequisite has changed so there is much more design phase scope.
