Certify a Building Extension

Hello all, we would like to certify the extension of an already LEED certified building. Do anyone know if there are other regulations or it is possible to extend the first certification? Many of the credits are the same like the sustainable site credits. Many thanks for your help.

My understanding is that the addition should be certified separately or depending on when the original project achieved its certification, you could wrap the addition into a EBOM certification process provided you have at least 1 year of operating data for both structures together.
