Certifiying a Historic Building & New Construction

I'm working a v4 BD+C Multifamily project. GBCI has advised that the historic building will not qualify for BD+C. The developer does not want to pay for two certifications. How could I sucessfully pursue LEED Silver for this project under one certification?

Thank you!

Hello!
I failed to find such advise, in contrary - I foud article about such cases (when historic buildings qualified for BD+C): https://www.usgbc.org/articles/leed-lookbook-reviving-historic-buildings-through-leed-strategies If under "two certifications" you meant two reviews design and construction - you can go for combined review (one at ther end of constraction). If other - specify.

Hi, Yes historic building adaptive reuse (sounds like what you are doing) is absolutely encouraged by the USGBC. I think you have misunderstood what they are telling you; there may be an issue with this particuar project or the kind of certification you are pursiong. It possibly needs to be LEED Residential and not BD+C. You should schedule a call with a LEED coach or reach back out to the GBCI to schedlue a call to clarify.
