We are working in a small office building in Mexico and we have not found a certified service company that has a certification from GreenPro, EcoWise or GreenShield.
We have found a company that complies with the National Pest Management Association standards and with the Environment Protection Agency for the applied products.
Can we work with this Company in order to apply for Option 2 in this Credit?
Thanks in advance,

The programs you list are acceptable if they have “equivalent IPM standards” to GreenPro, EcoWise, or GreenShield. The reference guide includes a table that shows some key components to those programs. That said, it’s not entirely clear how you would demonstrate that the programs are equivalent, and I can't say for sure that either of them would pass the LEED review.
If you want to be 100% sure, you could use Option 1 to show performance, which requires developing and implementing an in-house IPM policy. This option is more in-line with what was required under EBOM v2009.

Hi Trista, I'm working in a building in France and get the same problem about certified service company. When you say that "inplementing an in-house IPM policy" do you mean that In-house people have to manipulate pest products or can we handle the IPM in-house but also ponctually hire a company for some treatment?

Hi David, yes you can definitely hire a vendor to do some or all of your pest control services. You'd just need them to follow your IPM policy (or their own company IPM policy, as long as it's LEED compliant).

Hi Trista,
My project is in Singapore. The pest control contractor is certified by the following:
- ISO 9001:2015
- ISO 14001:2015
- OHSAS 18001:2007
Can the vendor be considered certified with equivalent IPM standards? Thanks.

That's a good question and unfortunately I don't have a concrete answer. I think as an international project you should probably check directly with GBCI.

Hello Ameet,
Did you get any guidance regarding whether the ISO certifications are valid?
Thanks!
