My project is a hospital building and has a central energy plant which serves the building pursuing for LEED NC certification, i am modeling the plant efficiency based off DESv2 option 2 as the project has better equipment efficiency. How do i account for thermal distribution losses and distribution pump energy to reflect the accurate plant efficiency. able 1.4 requires calculations and a narrative for it. Can you suggest any thumb of rule for this. The plant has steam boilers, water cooled chillers and cooling towel. I am using IES to do energy model, how to account for boiler efficiency as IES can only model Hot water boiler. Presently i am doing water and steam balance at the heat exchanger and using that as boiler efficiency. Is there any other way i can do this calculation or it is fine to model hot water boiler efficiency same as that of steam boiler. The projects service hot water generation is through steam to hot water heater, what efficiency should i use for calculation purposes and for Table 1.4.5
