EBOM-v4 SSc2:Rainwater management

CAMPUS Approach For Rainwater Management

I am currently analyzing and attempting to achieve the Campus credit for Rainwater Management for a university that is projected to change in the following 5-10 years. The institution is currently planning to implement many LID and GI strategies such as rain gardens and reduction of impervious surfaces; However many of these strategies will not be implemented for another 5 years. Which by then the performance period will be concluded, is there any possibility or approach to obtain this credit under LEED EBOM-v4 for a campus credit?

Hi Patricia, Great question. It likely won’t be possible to take credit for stormwater strategies that are planned that far into the future. It does sound like the perfect thing to submit under the Site Improvement Plan credit though, which is new to the EBOM v4 rating system. Otherwise I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until you recertify in 5 years.
