Dear LEED colleagues!
I am working on Volvo with sustainability concerning our new constructions globally.
We have internal demand that each new building (if it is big enough) should target LEED Gold certification.
Currently we are planning two new factury buildings on one of our exsisting factory plats in Daqing China.
On the plant there is several ongoing constructions and renovations, but only two new buildings will apply for LEED ceritification.
The LEED consultant suggested us to go for a campus certification instead of two seperate building certification. The benefit they the propose is that the certification fee will be lower.
Usually when we buil a total new plant from scratch we use the campus approach, but when we have an excisting plant that is not certified before and add new buildings we just certify that specific building and not use the campus.
i don´t see the benefits in using a campus approach in this case other than the cost savings. So we suggested a building by building but the LEED consultant insisting that it would be benefitial with the camups.
Can someone please help me with guidance on what would be the advantages and the disadvatadges on doing a campus or not a campus in the case above.

Based on your input I also do not see any big advantages other than the cost savings.
Can your LEED consultant provide specific list of advantages with cost assessment of each of it for you to make a decision?
