Dear GBCI,
we are applying the Campus Approach to certify a set of buildings within the same site (using the LEED NC BD+C v4).
We are using the guidance of the following document: LEED Campus Guidance For Projects on a Shared Site - Applicable to LEED 2009 and LEED v4 Design and Construction, and Operations and Maintenance Rating Systems, Updated April 1, 2014.
According to the above referred document, MR Credit Construction and Demolition Waste Management Planning is eligible for the Campus Approach, but MR Construction and Demolition Waste Management is not eligible for the Campus Approach. Therefor we assume that it is possible to have a Construction Waste Management Plan for whole campus but waste diverted percentage should be calculated for each building, It is correct?
It is important to note that in some cases several buildings are constructed at the same time and by the same contractor and for this, there is only a common space for waste divert where waste from several buildings are stored for future forwarding by haulers. Therefore, is difficult to separate different waste for different buildings and calculate the percentage of waste diversion of each building. Can we assume the total waste diversion percentage for each building?
Can you provide us with guidance / clarifications related with the use o campus approach for this specific credit when it is not possible to separate construction waste from different buildings?
Thanks in advance.

Dear Ricardo,
If the question is directed to GBCI, you may try LEED Interpretation, through which GBCI will answer your specific question. In LEED User forum, fellow professionals will give you answer based on best knowledge.
Yes, need monitoring and reporting individually for MR Construction and Demolition Waste Management Credit. Perhaps you can consider putting requirement for the contractor to group the waste in separate bins for each building.

Hi Ricardo. I recently submitted a master site application. In order to pursue Construction Waste Management the buildings within the project must be part of the same construction contract. This wasn't the approach for our project since they wanted to have the master site to rely on for future projects that were not funded yet. We created a master CWMP that although has some aspects that are campus-wide, also allows for the opportunity to tailor to each building project within. We plan to update it as necessary for each building certification moving forward. So, even without the actual award for the credit under the master site application, there are still ways to set your project up for continued success on a campus setting.
