Building Integrated PV/Solar Glass Manufacturers

I was wondering if any of you have experience with integrated PVs and/or solar glass. If so, can you could recommend manufactures for each? We are working on a multistory freestanding building in an urban site for a mid-Atlantic city. Because our site and roof area are limited we are looking to maximized the areas where we can generate power. Thanks so much! Silas

Silas, It's been a couple of years but I have received pricing from Onyx Solar in the past which was exorbitant (~$8-10/W?).  There are reasons for this as it is custom and produced in very small quantities compared to more conventional products.  It also generally uses amorphous silicon technology of various densities in order to maintain VLT but this means that efficiencies are several times lower than typical panels.  A high-quality transparent backsheet (~20% VLT) panel such as Lumos is still several times more expensive than typical options and is likely cost prohibitive in all but small quantities. We recently did a study that examined how to achieve 100% offset on-site for a 30-story tall office building in southern FL.  Although physically possible (if not shaded by adjacent buildings), it would incur extreme cost even if using commodity grade panels as shade devices or brise soleil which seemed to be the most effective solution (similar to Unisphere).  This can have dramatic effects on daylight & views though.  I'm happy to share more if you are interested.
